Located 90 minutes east of Malaga Airport, the Almerimar is a sleek five-star hotel with excellent leisure facilities and a Gary Player-designed golf course.

LOCATION

Situated very near the coast and near a marina, Almerimar has the sea on one side and fields on the other three.  The ancient town of El Ejido is three miles away and the historic city of Almeria – with its Moorish and gothic architecture – is 15 miles.   This is a rugged, authentic and unspoilt part of Costa del Sol.

THE HOTEL

The hotel, opened in 2012, is a bright, lively and top-value golf resort, there’s a welcoming vibe and the spa and fitness facilities make this a hotel for all the family.   Half-board is generous and there’s a Drinks Package available too.  There are 112 bedrooms – all light, airy and spacious – ranging from 55m2 with large private terrace

FACILITIES

Indoor and outdoor pool, thermal circuit, gym area; Almerimar has it all without going over the top.

DINING

Half-board is taken at the Mediterranean buffet where there is also a Sushi bar.  There’s a clubhouse restaurant and lobby bar too.

THE GOLF COURSE

Very flat, Almerimar dates from the mid 1970’s and is a 27-hole layout.  It’s pleasant parkland golf with a little bit of water and plenty of palm trees.  It’s ideal for holiday golf, particularly for when you want to keep your game in shape over the winter months.  The course is well-maintained and hosted the Legends Cup in 2024.

SUMMARY

Whilst the area in and around Marbella has become expensive and sometimes over-busy, Almerimar remains charming and brilliantly priced.  It’s a no-brainer for an unfussy sunshine break without having to dive into your savings.
