Royal Belgique
The Royal Golf Club of Belgium – opened by King Leopold II in 1909 – is almost like a botanical park with 18 flags. It’s a visual treat and you can be often duped into relaxing too much and you’ve run out of shots by the turn!
Quite short by modern standards but with plenty of bite, Royal Belgique is a gem. Deservedly exclusive and reassuringly expensive, you’re treated as a Member for the day and I would recommend you “get in the zone” on the excellent practice range before teeing off and allow plenty of time for lunch and drinks in what is one of my favourite clubhouses on the continent.
