Hotel Overview

Chateau Chailly is a gorgeous four-star hotel located in a 16th-century castle in the peaceful countryside of Burgundy. The hotel is classified as a National Monument and has been transformed into a luxurious hotel with a gourmet restaurant and an 18-hole golf course. It is about 40 minutes away from Dijon and Beaune; two of the most famous wine regions in France, and close to many castles, medieval villages and natural attractions. The hotel offers a blend of modern facilities and traditional features, with a friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere.

Accommodation

The hotel features 45 elegant guest rooms and suites, all with air conditioning, TV, minibar and safe. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and decorated with antique furniture and paintings. . The hotel also offers 8 self-catering apartments, ideal for families or groups of friends. Bedrooms are in the wings and main chateau; the Classic bedrooms are large enough for a short stay but think about upgrading to the larger Prestige for three or more nights and why not treat yourself to an amazing suite in the towers…One of the most impressive bedrooms I’ve been lucky enough to stay in.

Golf

The hotel is surrounded by its own golf course: Golf de Chailly. It features large, fast and elevated greens that are well protected by its deep green-side bunkers. There’s a stream that meanders throughout the golf course and there are a few water hazards too.

Dining and Bars

The hotel has two restaurants, two bars and a wine cellar, offering a variety of culinary options and ambiances. L’Armançon is the main restaurant, serving buffet breakfast and dinner with local and international dishes. The restaurant has a terrace overlooking the golf course and the castle. Le Rubillon is a gourmet restaurant (open over the weekend), specialising in classic regional cuisine and wine pairing. Bar Armes is a cosy lounge bar, offering cocktails, snacks and live music. Bar Golf is a casual poolside bar, serving refreshing drinks and light meals.

Recreational and Wellness

The hotel offers a range of recreational and wellness facilities, including an 18-hole golf course, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a hammam and a hot tub. The hotel also has a spa, Vinésime et Charme d’Orient which offers massages, facials and body treatments using natural products from Burgundy.

Conclusion

Chateau Chailly is one of my favourites for its “Frenchness” and scenery. You have good quality four-star comforts, and an incredible history in a stunning location in the heart of Burgundy. It’s an ideal place to discover the treasures of Burgundy or to enjoy a relaxing getaway in the countryside. Rated among the Top 100 golf destinations in Europe, Chateau de Chailly is ideal for a short-break as part of your “tour de France” and also a fine choice for a longer stay during which you can dip into the golf, the wine and the very French style of Chateau de Chailly.
